Stompin’ in the rain. . .

This weekend was the Capital City Half Marathon and Kids’ Run.  The newspaper captured the conditions quite well with the headline “Stompin’ in the Rain”.  Our fun started on Saturday with the kids’ run.  Sela had a blast and is, again, already looking forward to her next race.

Lucy cheered herself on while the mommies got her close to the finish line!

Sunday was the half marathon.  Darrel carried on his tradition of crazy headgear–and even managed to get a rain gauge to stay in the back of his hat for the 13.1 miles.

Despite the conditions, Darrel ran a personal best of 1:40.  Way to go my speedy husband!  I managed to shave a couple minutes off my last time, and finished at 1:54.

Here is our great training and running group. . .which really made the whole thing so much more enjoyable!

Our Great Wolf Adventure

We got to spend a fun night at the Great Wolf Lodge hotel/waterpark this weekend.  The girls slept with a moose in their bed, ate cotton candy dipped in chocolate fondue, heard an extra special bedtime story, and played for hours in the wavepool and on the waterslides.  Not surprisingly, they are already asking when they get to go back!

Apparently all that fun is quite exhausting!
